about
My Blood follows my debut single Lose You and is the title track of my debut EP. It is a song about how my life changed throughout the 2020 pandemic and I had to reinvent myself a little to cope with the paused live music industry. Recorded at Studiowz in South West Wales.
lyrics
Fingers tingling
My toes are curled
My body's empty
Our sail's unfurled
Days of wonder
Lessons learned
It's all gone under
Bridges burned
And I don't know where you came from
As far as I knew
Nothing could go wrong
It's still raw and I don't understand
Am I bold enough to take a stand?
There's nothing I can do
I've got no way out
I'm still cold so I can't comprehend
I'm not sold on this, I won't pretend
I could shed my skin
But my blood will never change
A rose in winter
A kiss goodbye
A ray of sunshine
Throughout the night
When life takes a different shape
It's ok (it's ok)
To take some time, evaluate
Day by day
It's still raw and I don't understand
Am I bold enough to take a stand?
There's nothing I can do
'Cause I've got no way out
I'm still cold so I can't comprehend
I'm not sold on this, I won't pretend
I could shed my skin
But my blood will never change
Now I'm old enough to understand
And I'm sure enough to make a plan
There's something I can do
I'll find a way out
And now I can finally see
It's just another part of me
I have shed my skin
But my blood will never change
Oh, my blood will never change
