about
Nye is the final track of my debut EP. It was inspired by a voice note of Toby and I chatting on New Years Eve of 2020-21 when the world still felt very strange but there was hope going into a new year. Recorded at Studiowz in South West Wales.
lyrics
What time is it?
By my watch it's 11:54
And we're in the town centre
By the tree in the square
And there's something in the air
This time two years ago
We were in this same spot
But right now you could hear a pin drop
There's a full moon
You can just see it through the mist
There's still Christmas lights up
But there's nobody here
Trees wearing party poppers
Somebody's been here
But right now there's not a soul in sight
And it's dead, absolutely dead
There's a full moon
You can just see it through the mist
There's still Christmas lights up
But there's nobody here
It feels a little different this year
It feels a little different this year
